I'll be honest. I'm a best friend whore. I call everyone my best friend.
But these three ladies are close and dear to my heart.
Who are they?
I'll be happy to introduce you to them. more than happy
In no particular order:
The Chef
The Traveler
The Cat Lady
I met The Chef first, the very first day I moved into my dorm room at RIT nearly six years ago. Another friend of mine, who had attended the Summer Vestibule Program with The Chef, introduced me to her, and we hit it off.
The Chef is best friends with The Traveler, whom I met next. They were roommates our first year at RIT, but had known each other for years prior. We were in the same major and took many classes together.
Even though I had heard of her through our friend circle, I didn't officially meet The Cat Lady until my junior year at RIT. Once we met, it was like we were always lifelong friends.
There's something about the people you meet in college who make a great impact on your life, and that holds true for many of the people I met at RIT, but more so these three. All of us have lived together at some point, and we would have sleepovers whenever possible. We have pulled all-nighters doing nothing more than carving pumpkins at Halloween or painting canvases, or watching dumb trashy rom-coms (and some weren't dumb, or trashy, or rom-coms for that matter).
When The Cat Lady adopted her kitten, we were all excited and flocked to meet her "daughter." When The Traveler set off for lands unknown, we eagerly waited to hear stories from abroad. Whenever The Chef had an adventure, we loved hearing her tales.
We are now all long distance. I am more than a day's drive away from The Chef. More than two days' drive from The Cat Lady and The Traveler.
I miss my best friends incredibly, but I know regardless of where we are, we always have each other. I always claim that I don't have secrets, that I'm an open book. But these three truly know every single detail of my life, and I know I can truly tell them everything.
I love and miss these three ladies, and I know the next time I see The Cat Lady, The Chef, and The Traveler, it will be a reunion to remember. And everyone within a twenty-mile radius might have permanent hearing loss.
Sorry.
These three ladies are my best friends, my roommates, and my soul mates.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.
